AJ has always known he would take after his grandfather and build homes. While attending Texas Tech University, he worked for a custom home builder, then signed on with Trammell Crow Residential where he helped complete over 2,000 units in Central Austin. In 2009, AJ combined his extensive knowledge of both commercial and residential construction to create Messer Design + Construction.

Not your average builder, AJ has an astute attention to detail. You will often see him after hours checking job sites and running numbers to ensure a project is completed successfully and on budget. He has been active with new home construction and extensive remodel and renovation projects throughout the Austin area. 

Taylor was born and raised in Texas. Following high school,  he served in the Marine Corps for 4 years of active duty, where he quickly rose to the rank of Corporal E4. After serving his country, Taylor came back to Texas and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He has been working in luxury home building since 2018 running projects as large as 10,000 square feet. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys working out, gaming with his wife, and spending time with family.

Christine joined Messer D+C in January 2020 after moving to Austin from Boston, MA. She obtained her Master's degree in Accounting from Endicott College in 2019 while working in the accounting industry for the past eight years. Her career focus in construction and real estate accounting makes her the point-person on our team for all accounting and financial matters. Her responsibilities include overseeing daily accounting operations, aiding with job budget tracking, and establishing accounting policies and procedures.

Watching her parents build and run one of the most successful real estate companies in West Texas, Alexa has grown up with real estate in her blood. Alexa attended the University of Texas in El Paso and majored in Business and then went on to study Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Colorado. While obtaining her Master’s, she worked in commercial property management in Downtown Denver for Cushman and Wakefield. Shortly after graduating, Alexa returned to Texas to work under one of the top luxury broker’s in Austin at Gottesman Residential Real Estate.

With a keen understanding of the residential market in Austin, Alexa brings a unique insight into the construction field. As a real estate agent, she understands marketing trends in both design and interior amenities, her radar is set to catch trends and upgrades.

Alexa strives to go above and beyond for each client each step of the way. She believes communication and organization are the key to a successful project.

Bob began his journey in the construction industry in 1982 as a roofing/copper mechanic in New York. After a few years in that trade, Bob decided to move on to carpentry and framing, where he became an accomplished journeyman. In 1995, Bob decided to move up to a superintendent role with a custom home builder, responsible for all day-to-day activities on multiple project sites. After a few years in that role, he moved up to the project manager position, in charge of all aspects of various residential and commercial construction projects.

In 2009, Bob moved to Austin, Texas where he continued working his way into the custom, high-end residential industry. In addition to his love of building, Bob is also an accomplished singer and musician, having toured in many amazing places around the world, with some of the best musicians in the business. He continues to write, record, and play live shows in and around Austin. With what little time he has available, Bob is a certified fitness trainer who exercises regularly, coaches youth sports, and teaches music to young, up-and-coming musicians.

​Sarah grew up in the Hill Country and recently graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Spanish. Go Red Raiders! She is a driven individual and is MDC's go to person. She enjoys helping people create their dream home in the best city in America.
